Also, i think that Krabi has not really recovered from the tsunami, with some of the shops which has been destroyed during the disaster, looking the same as the tsunami just happened the day before we reached..It maybe also because of where we were staying i guess.. Our hotel, Ao Nang Buri Resort is located at the quiet beach, Nopparat Thara Beach.
Nopparat Thara Beach, which is situated right opposite where we stayed.
Nopparat Thara Beach is located just next to Ao Nang Beach, which is the more famous beach in Krabi island. Although more famous, there is nothing much that Ao Nang can offer in terms of foods and even place of interest. Also, the reason could be that we went during the low season ( end of Sept). But the thing that i love travelling in low season is that, more attention will be on you rather than the ang mohs- who usually travelled during the high season..the foods are also much cheaper, with promotions like - 20-30% disc or even buy 1 free 1 during dinner.
During the whole trip, we encounter alot of Korean tourist. I tot most Koreans are leng luis, but not from what i saw. ( nasty me).
With ntg muc to do, we book 2 tour packages, 1st : the island package - to 8 different places where we travelled by speed boat. 2nd being the land package which is so not worthy. I would not talk much bout the island tour because it is quite similar to the 1 I went during my Phuket trip.
As for the land package, we went to 3 places, if I'm not wrong. The 1st is the Tiger Cave temple, where I almost die-ded, climbing the seems-like-never-ending steps up hill just to discover so-so view..After the climbing, we are brought to the water fall hotspring, which is also not my favorite, mainly because of aftr climbing the stairs, my body is in need of cool spring and not hot spring and so most of us did not dip in to the spring. The last destination being the emerald pool which we have high hopes on. After about 10mins walk from the tix counter, we finally reached the emarald pool..Disappointment.. Just an ordinary green-colored pool.. look almost like the green-ish swimming pool bac in our resort.. But i guess Emerald pool is the best, because we can finally soak in icy cool water after the whole climbing and walking the whole day.
I supposed this is being kicked down by tired tourist or even angry ones after discovering whats at the top..lol
The steps are countless and some being very steep...i cant feel my legs aftr the climbing .
The view from the Tiger Cave Temple.
The Emerald Pool which is behind us. As you can see the wide smile in our face after soaking in the cool water in a hot afternoon.
COoL.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to both of those places.
Shall go one day.
Not bad oh ^^

Hi there! Im going to Krabi for a short getaway soon. Found your blogspot useful!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Im curious on the dress code/ attire to tiger cave temple. Do I need to wear long pants with sleeved top in order to get into temple? Besides that, hows the stairs up to the temple? does someone need to wear a pair of sturdy shoes to climb up the hill?
Apart from that, regarding emerald pool and hot spring waterfall, are they two separate entries or connected by one entry? Any dress code for that? (for example swimwear is a must to get into the pool n waterfall?) Because im planning on the number of changing clothes to bring along. Haha. Looking forward to seeing your reply soon!
Thank you very much!
@hui yong Chan Hi there! Thanks fro dropping by and sorry for the 8 months late reply :p
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I will still answer to your queries.
1. There is no specific dress code to all 3 mentioned attractions :) Just enjoy the climb up the stairs & the nice pool with whatever you feel like wearing and however you think will look best on photo as you will be keeping this memories in your photo album.
2. I will recommend a good sport shoe to climb.
Thanks!
