From Klang to Taiwan: Intro

Just back from our Taiwan trip and I must say it is a very tiring one indeed..alot of walking and 3 girls carrying luggage weighing up to 37 kg, fml..but still we did have fun..although we did not visit alot of place there, the place that we went the most is their night market.

And the weather is dam cool...avg of 13-17 degrees Celsius, one thing I noticed in Taiwan is that most of the locals there do not like to shop in malls like us, even in weekends, but most of them will be out at night to the 'pasar malam'.

We're so lucky because alot of place that we expect to queue, we do not have to, maby because of the weather, thus not many people. So most of the time when we want to eat something famous, or when in the bus and even mrt, we can easily get a seat ( lesser chance of getting one in MRT, tho).

Back to the topic, we travelled Airasia to Taoyuan International Airport, about RM800/ pax incl meal and insurance. Coincidentally, my bro is free, thus he become the driver to fetch us to lcct. Our flight is at 9.50am and we reached early, so we had our brekkie at mcD..

Introducing my humble lil family: l-r: my da jie, me, my mei and my di. ^^

Our meal in the flight. The flight is about 4 to 4 1/2 hrs. Airasia X's legspace is a bit more spacious compared to the normal ones. The chicken rice is ok..chick a bit dry, the bbq chicken is too salty...no choice as it is our prebooked meal. Each meal is RM12 with a complimentary mineral water.

First thing we did when we reached Taoyuan is to apply for the Youth Travel card, you are eligible if you're aged 15-30. Just fill in a form, and you will be given the above card, where you will get discounts in places like Taipei 101 & Miramar Ferris Wheel, just to name a few. The card is useless for us, we only used it to get a piece of 'xiao long pao' key chain when we dine at Din Tai Fung.

Next thing we did is to get a sim card also in the airport, so that we can msg or call bac to msia at a cheaper rate. As you can see from the board, we paid NT300 and get NT350 credit.

Our number in taiwan. SMS back to Msia is NT5/msg which is about RM 0.50 per sms, cheaper compared to if you are using Digi, which is RM 2/sms.

Next, we took a bus to Taipei station which cost NT125, and a cab to our minshu (homestay), Dream House. We stayed there until day 5 as we were lazy to move with our luggage. The stay cost about NT2090/night, for 3 person.

While waiting for my jie to check in.

In our room: Flat screen tv, closet, washing machine, heater, air-con, mini fridge, hair dryer, it is like a mini house with all necessities provided, also clothes dryer are available at the balcony for public use.

When we were 1st brought to the road where the homestay is situated, our cabbie even warned us, reason being because the location, it is located in back alley, the cabbie thought that we are being conned and asked us to be careful.

We were also scared at 1st, but after being in the homestay we feel much better, altho situated in the back alley, it is not as scary as back alley in our country. The alley is well-lit with people and bike moving back & forth.

The people from Dream House are also very friendly, guiding us on where to go and what to do during our stay there.

Only thing which I do not like about staying here is the walk from the Taipei Main Mrt station to Dream House. I will advised you guys to stay in hotel which is nearer to the mrt, to save $ and also energy.

Ending the intro post with the 3 of us in the hotel lobby..paiseh eh..te picture abit blurry after resizing... byeee

It's nice to chill and spend time with the hubs in a quiet place with view, especially during the pandemic. Located in Mont Kiara, right...
