My 2012 Oink Oink Bday - El Cerdo

Pardon my nerdy/act-cute photo. On my ahem, not-so-young-anymore-bday, I decided to go cute with the big-ass specs. I suppose if I didn't act cute this year, I cannot afford to do it the following years.

Before the dinner, we had tea at Dreamz Bakery at Kota Damansara.

My darlings ♥

Carbonara @ RM12.90. Not much of food selections, but I love their spaghetti, very creamy, with 3 fresh prawns, mushrooms and bits of smoked salmon.

Chocolate cheese. Japanese-style I assume as the cheese is very light-weight, to our liking.

Address:
Dreamz Bakery
No 32-1, The Strand Jalan PJU 5/20D
Pusat Perdagangan Kota Damansara
47810 Petaling Jaya (Close on every Tuesday)

And now to the star of the day, El Cerdo at Changkat Bukit Bintang.

First of all, a happy picture of me with my 2012 present.

And next, Xmas present from the big sista ♥

El Cerdo means 'The Pig' in Spanish and the place is famous for its pork dishes from around the world.

The place is very cosy with good service and with good food. A highly recommended place for a good family dinner or even for an outing with friends.

We are first greeted with soft, complimentary bread with pork liver spread?

Jamon Serrano. Imported Spanish cured & air-dried ham served on rock melon and salad. There are alot of thin ham varieties on the plate. Some of the ham is a bit salty, recommended to be eaten with the condiments which are served together.

A Day Out at Ikea

Random post on our Ikea outing. I just love visiting Ikea...I love the way they decorate and I'll always dream of my house looking like it is...yeah...I;m a dreamer...and will always be one....

Our root beer from the vending machine outside of Ikea. It's been sometime since our last root beer...refreshing!!

After touring Ikea, a place which we never fail to visit each time, and a must go is the Foodcourt@Ikea for the yummylicious meatball.....

The meatball is a bit dry, but it is just nice when eaten with the sauce. But I don't understand why there is jam served in this dish, any idea? It cost RM 5 for this plate of 5 pcs meatball with french fries.

Mushroom Soup, RM 3. This taste good too, but it's a bit watery.

This time around we also tried the chicken wing, RM 4. This is not good, cold and un-crispy....

2 happy faces in Ikea. If you would excuse us now, we will like to enjoy our Swedish meatballs now...adjö meaning goodbye (thanks Google Translate)...

Murni Discovery USJ & Sunway

I had always loved Murni at SS2, for the varieties they served over there but I rarely pay a visit to SS2 Murni. I hate the traffic at that area and also the restaurant's crowd, you'll never manage to get a table especially yum cha time.

But to my surprise, as I was surfing the net, I came across Murni Discovery at USJ and also Dataran Mentari, Sunway. We were so happy we had dinner in Murni Discovery 2 nights in a row. So near leh...where can don't try....

The USJ branch is located just opposite Taipan and the Sunway branch is at Dataran Mentari, just next to 99 Speedmart. I'm lazy to post the address here.Just google up the address and use a gps, voila....that easy...I ♥smartphones. The USJ Murni does not serve all the foods in the menu, there is some items which are only available at Sunway and SS2.

Roti Hawaii...RM6? with spider web on it. I think their quality has drop. I find the Roti Hawaii abit dry compared with the 1st one I had years back.

The fillings in the roti canai : sausage, minced chicken, pineapple, a lil bit of cheese.

Claypot Lou Shu Fan. Yummy...I think this is RM5. I tried this in both outlet, I think the 1 in USJ is tastier. The Sunway's is too salty.

The famous Murni Mee Raja, priced at RM10. I find it too expensive.Portion's too big, it can feed 3 person. Alot of mee with plenty of prawns and crab stick.

Nasi Goreng Bacon. RM7. Nothing special, but the fried rice tasted ok. I should try the Western food there...hmmphh...

Murni Supper Set.

That's it for this post. Not much to write about Murni. Just try it yourself...ta~tA~

Buffet @ Coffee Terrace, Genting

WARNING: This post is some dated post.Being a lazy blogger and due to the reason that I am now working (at last!), the time spent on blogging got lesser. This outing was like few weeks back.

I ♥ my cupcake tank.

Me and both the sis went Genting the other day (to make it sound less dated?), got Genting First World Hotel free room ma. The sis's genting card, which is frequently used in the casino earns us a free room. So yay! We wanted to stay at the Genting Resort Hotel but it is fully booked...hmm..Genting really is a hot stuff..enough of yabbing...

Like usual, we visited the casino and donated some $$$ to the Uncle Lim Charity. And after all the adrenaline rush due to gambling, we went Coffee Terrace for Buffet Dinner. The price for dinner after tax is RM 70. Plenty of foods to choose from, Western, Indian, Japanese, Nyonya, Penang, Chinese, Shanghai-nese?

But too bad, the 3 of us did not really try much, due to the small capacity of our tummy. It may appear huge on the outside (round tummy) but can't really fill in much food.

The dining area is very big, when we 1st walk in we was like woah, "got so many diners meh?" But after we almost finish eating, there are a BIG group of tourist from China, walking in, like hundreds of them. Luckily we had done eating, or else we need to queue.

Being the kiasu me, I nom alot of sashimi, expensive food ma, it's written there salmon from Norway. The sashimi is nothing to shout about, I prefer the one served in Sakae. Followed by some roasted lamb, cause it is limited, when the Chinese came, there are no more roasted lamb. Others foods that I had consumed is chicken rice, Char Kuey Teow, La Mian, Desserts, Pasta, Cooked Salmon, Porridge, all of these are shared by the 3 of us.

More pictures of the buffet spread:

The Western Asian Spread.

Roasted Lamb, Pasta and Salad.

The desserts all look very nice, but tasted so-so. Also there's chocolate fountain*eyes sparkling...

More desserts...Love the ice cream with choco on top...very chocolatey~

Some other no-caption pictures...the stir fried vegetables is very nice...recommended...Char Kuey Teow too...The Chicken rice's chicken is only so-so, but the rice is good, very fragrant.

The 3 of us walked out of Coffee Terrace with a smile on our face, and with a bigger and rounder tummy than before. No more buffet for us, ermm at least till the end of this month? Hehe...

Entrance to Coffee Terrace. Why do they put some weird-vertical-cannon-looking-thingy on the walkway?

End this post with a picture of us, the Tans sister, stew-pit...and I'm sleeping...haha

Maid Cafe @ Cineleisure

I had always wanted to visit the Maid cafe aka Meido Cafe メイドカフェ after watching numerous TV shows that promotes it. All the servants that are shown on screen are cute, sexy and pretty, also not to mention, possess a 'devil's body'.

The Maid Cafe is like a dream come true for the male otaku. Also, I had also thought that being into a Maid Cafe can only be my dream, because it will take me quite a time to earn enough to visit Japan. Plus, I find it quite embarrassing for a girl to visit a Maid Cafe.

One fine day, I decided to pay a visit to the newly opened authentic Maid Cafe located at Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara. At least that's what they say in their website.

Upon entering, we were greeted by the friendly waitress, but too bad, we are not allowed to snap their photos. The exterior is mainly in pink and white, I likey ♥ ..

All the time we were there, there are not many patrons, and the waitress seems to be free, walking around and chatting with us. Also 1 of them actually carry the below bear and walks around.

Poor teddy. Saw the servant? Yeah, it is the one with the red hat, I did not capture her on purpose, she just randomly walks in to the picture while I was capturing.

Myself hugging the kawaii pillow while sitting on the comfortable sofa seating.

The cute menu.

The services available. We did not try any of them as we we running out of time. But awkward le the spoon feed, the boy asked no hand to eat ourself meh...haha...maybe in front of me that's why he said that..hmmphh..

There are not many choices of food available here though. Below is some of the items available which I snapped from their menu.

Prices of food ranges from RM16-RM 24. They serve Japanese over there. I really wanted to try their kawaii bento, but the Wednesday bento does not interest me. T.T

Ok...enough of talking, it's food-time:

First to arrived is our dessert: Chocolate Snow Flake, forget to inform them to serve it after the mains. Thus, at the end it melted, but at that time there is only 1/4 left. So, I guess it is ok. There is a generous amount of nuts and choco chips. Loved the soft ice. They served it with strawberry flavor love letter. I think this cost RM 9.90 ? I can't remember.

Chicken Spaghetti, RM 19.90. There is 3 sauce that you can choose from : mushroom, BBQ and Black Pepper. We opt for the mushroom. No real chicken present in this dish, only chicken ham, I presume. The pasta is ok, the sauce is flavorful, but unlike those we have in the western restaurants where the sauce are creamier.

And lastly, my Salmon Fish Ball served with Japanese Fried Rice, RM 19.90. Nothing special about this dish. Normal fried rice with fishball, only difference is it is salmon fish ball. I think this is quite pricey. The food does not serve the price tag.  Should have order the Curry Rice- from the banner the curry rice is served in a heart shape bowl.

A pair of bullet train chopstick. Cute not?

Overall, I loved the dining experience at Tenshi Cafe. The price is ok for a themed restaurant, will be visiting the cafe again soon enough to try the kawaii bento and the curry rice. The waitress there are very friendly. They even chatted with us, although it was quite random, and we do not know how to reply to her.

Other photos I took that day:

Jarrod & Rawlins

Went Jarrod & Rawlins the other day for dinner. The restaurant is located at Damansara Height which is not really that far from Sunway, but it took us about an hour to reached due to traffic jam.

SS in the car.

My outfit of the day, bought this at Forever 21 @ RM59. We parked at the office building opposite Jarrod & Rawlins, rate is RM3 per entry after 5pm.

Reached the banglo, ehh the restaurant at last ..

The table's deco.

Pick your favorite meat from the deli counter: bacons, sausages, pork ribs, beef, hams...then your sauce, sides and they will prepare it for you. The meats is charged according to its weight.

Our drinks : Appletiser (sparkling juice), RM 11.50, chocolate milk shake RM 12.

Posing with the Apple-tiser while waiting for our food to arrive.

My mushroom & bacon carbonara linguini, RM 27. Very creamy indeed and quite big portion, should have order the sandwiches, did not do research on the restaurant first, thus unsure of what to order, and make the wrong choice. T.T. The linguini is tasty nonetheless, but must be shared.

Meats from the deli counter. Pork Ribs, RM 18.22, Dynamite chicken sausage, RM 4.84, Onion gravy RM 2 and the baked potato RM 8. Everything total up is RM 33.06. Much worthy than my pasta.

The pork chop is very tender and juicy, served together with a piece of big fat skin, but both of us dislikes fatty skin, thus a few grams wasted. The sausage is too spicy, we shall try the other sausages during our next visit. The onion gravy is just like ordinary gravy with a few piece of onion. There is also complimentary sauce, you can choose from : English/Djon mustard, HP (i duno what is this), mayo, tomato, cranberry, apple, wasabi, tobasco.

After the eating, we rover around the suppose-to-be relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is quite noisy, but the noise is still acceptable.Alot of people, i supposed they are having their xmas dinner. Afterall, it is a good experience, will definitely drop by again for the meatssss.

Hyatt House KL - Gallery Kitchen & Ten37 Sky Bar

It's nice to chill and spend time with the hubs in a quiet place with view, especially during the pandemic. Located in Mont Kiara, right...
